Overview

Red Label (2nd Grade) Canadian Western Red Cedar Shingles.

Dimensions & Sizes

Lengths at 16” long, random widths in the bundles range from 3” up to 10” wide
Standard thickness 10mm tapered to a feather edge.

Each bundle will cover 2.235m2 with a 5” (125mm) exposure.

Material & Finish

We also stock the Blue Label Cedar Ridges as well as 32mm Stainless steel ring shank nails in 1kg bags

Installation & Usage

Please note there will be colour variation from bundle to bundle and we recommend opening and working from 2-3 bundles during installation.

Leave a gap of between 7mm to 10mm between each shingle when fitting so as to avoid the shingles bucking during the wet weather.

Step 2: Precision Cutting & Calibration

At our facility, sawn oak boards are precisely cut to size and calibrated using advanced wood moulding machinery. This technology enables our skilled machinists to assess each board's unique characteristics and select the optimal face for crafting custom profiles and mouldings. By combining state-of-the-art equipment with expert craftsmanship, we ensure that every piece meets our high standards of quality and aesthetic appeal.

Step 3: Trimming, Knot Filling & Sanding

After the boards have been machined to the desired size and profile, they undergo double end trimming to remove any end splits or defects. Any knots present in the wood are carefully filled with a colour-matching wood filler. The boards are then machine-sanded to a smooth 100-grit finish, ensuring they are ready for oiling or staining before installation

Step 4: Careful Selection & Dispatch

Once we receive your order, the boards will be carefully selected, packaged, and promptly dispatched.

FAQs

Our skirting boards are supplied in random lengths from 1.8m up to 3.5m long and double end trimmed (free from end split).

The longest lengths we stock and can deliver is 3.5m (12ft long). Our standard.

We will do our best to accommodate specific lengths request but will have to build in a waste element into the quote. Please email your enquiry to sales@classicoak.co.uk.

We can send out a sample for you on a prompt courier service. You can order samples with next day delivery here
